It's great to have a router. I would have opted to pay $100.00 more to get the laser option. The software is simplistic and does work on Windows 10 - backward, as advertised, if you decide to hook this up to a PC - OR- stand alone, but the manual control doesn't allow for fine micrometer adjustments, so expect one quick press on the button advances engraving head more than a CM (1/2 inch) vs. 02mm. It will do basic engravings quite nicely.SETUP: You can go to youtube. There are a number of buyers who bought one of these that show / film construction quite nicely. My only "add" to this is, mine, the pre-installed top motor wasn't tightened down on the spindle. There were metal shavings all throughout the packaging, so it told me this was hurriedly put together, and hurriedly thrown in the package without even the simplest oversight or check by the manufacturer. One of the small hex nuts was stripped, so I had to take the whole unit apart again and fix what should have been properly installed by the factory--and wasn't.Again, though, you bought a cheap $200.00 engraver when quality one is around $1000.00. - It's best you either buy or make your own engraving "box" for the engraving machine to sit in and catch all the shavings while its in operation.I'm very satisfied with the purchase, but I was disappointed at the quality assurance level in that the pre-installed motor simply fell off - it's the only one pre-installed - the first thing that happened is mine fell off after I put the whole thing together. So, my advice to you is verify/check the pre-installed engraving motor first. Verify the small hex nuts are actually screwed down tightly. Do this before you proceed to put the rest of the motors on. Why? It's the motor that drives the spindle and keeps it secure when engraving your item. If it falls off during engraving, like mine would have, it would have ruined the piece the customer asked me to engrave.Again, it's a good deal for the price, even with the drawbacks. Simple. Easy to use for small projects as stated in the advertisement. Works as advertised. It's pretty easy to put together, I don't know what all the fuss is about. Basically just look at the pictures in the "manual" they send with it. I was short one M3 screw, but had some at home, so no big deal. I did get a few extra screws, a coupler and a spring. So I guess they tried to make up for it.OK, I've had time to work with this and the seller. The seller is kinda hard to get in touch with, but that's Amazon's fault. Just hard to find them. Once I get in touch, they're pretty helpful.Overall, the machine is pretty good. *I* have to upgrade the motor, but that's me, I can't leave well enough alone. But if you're just starting down the CNC road, this would be a good beginner project. The machine is well built and I don't have any problems with it. *I* had some problems, but then again, that's me, doing stuff most people wouldn't be. I have to tinker with it and push the limits. But yeah, I'd buy it again. Seller has been very help with some of the issues I did have.Update: This is a nice little machine, perfect size for me to take in our RV so I can work on hobby/craft stuff on the road (we make crafty stuff to sell). Mostly light weight stuff on the road, like engraving acrylic light signs. Once I get the LASER working, I'll be able to post something with that.Titoe has been very helpful when I've had an issue, more so than some other folks here. Even after the warranty period. Very impressed with themWe wanted to try this. We kept looking and this had the best reviews by far. It’s is difficult to use. We ruined a lot of projects before we got good cuts. The cuts we get are very simple. A snow flake or a simple owl.Don’t do it. Spend more for a better name brand machine. Sorry we waited so much effort in this one.You get why you pay for. This is a good little machine FOR LEARNING. Use this to decide if CNC is right for you. If you get in to it, you will want to upgrade. Use locktite on the rod connectors as the drum screws can and will loosen. The spindle burned out after several weeks of constant use, but I expected that. The laser is great but requires a learning curve. I used pallet boards to learn on. I have since started buying 1x6 lumber for projects. I was hesitant to buy this at first, but I am not disappointed. This is a very versatile little machine. Lots of features and all the accessories you will need to get started. I highly recomend this vendor. Very quick to respond to a question. One part had a mis-located hole and he quickly sent new set of parts that got me going quickly. I saw some cheaper units but all cheaper unit require you to get something else to complete, wether that be clamps, or cable ties or anything like that. Not with this kit. It has everything, including a roll of spiral cable sheathing to tiddy up the cables. I am impressed. Thank you for the well put together and nicely packed kit. I would purchase a few extra 5mm T-nuts as a few of the ones in the kit, had tight threads. I had some from a modification i did to my 3D printer and they are cheap to have a few spares. I think i will be buying another of these just like this for a small production I have planned.Assembly was a bit of a chore. The instructions were pretty straight forward though. So far a good intro router as I learn more about CNC machines.Assembly was complicated and dreadful but once it was working the functions are easily learnable
