Despite the use of shielded connectors, the manufacturer cut corners on the cable itself; neither of my cables passed a shield test with my cable tester.For my purposes, it didn't matter, because I'm literally going to cut one end of the cable off and use it for a custom adapter that has nothing to do with ethernet (though an extra ground might have been nice), but if you're seeing the metal ends and expecting this to be a shielded CAT 6 cable, you'll be sorely disappointed.It would be better if the manufacturer either A. built the cable properly with shielding or B. used an unshielded plastic-only cable so that it doesn't look like it is shielded. Do not use it for Ethernet or any balanced data type. I used it for connecting stepper-motors so it was fine for my application, but I would not buy it if I was using is for actual data.Cut the end off to put one on without the stiff boot to allow me to fit it in a tight spot and what do I find? It's not Cat5/Cat5e, not Cat6, it's not even twisted pair. Just straight wire and not even using the right colors.
